Description

Struisbaai Harbour is home to some of the most friendly and famous stingrays in South Africa. These gentle giants, particularly a well-known local stingray named Parrie, have been a beloved attraction for years. Visitors can see these massive rays gliding gracefully through the shallow waters, often coming right up to the harbor wall in search of scraps from returning fishing boats.

These stingrays, mainly short-tailed rays, can grow up to 2 meters wide and weigh over 100 kg! Despite their size, they are completely harmless and have become accustomed to human interaction, often swimming close to visitors standing in the water.
