Choose the Right Category for Your Listing!

When adding your listing, please select the most relevant category to ensure it reaches the right audience. Here’s a breakdown of each category and the types of listings they include:


Approved Locations for Listings

Listings must be located within Struisbaai, L’Agulhas, Suiderstrand, Molshoop (Struisbaai North), and the 30km surrounding radius.

For external listings located 10-70km from these areas, Please see Approved Nearby Attractions list and list them them as Nearby Attractions under Attractions. Make sure your listing fits within the guidelines to be approved! 


Make sure you select the correct category to ensure your listing is easily found and relevant to the audience you’re targeting!

Place (For Businesses, Shops, etc.)

This category is for any businesses or physical locations, whether you offer services or have a retail space.

Place Categories

Services – Select this if you provide services (e.g., hair salon, gym, consultancy, carpentry)

Shopping – Choose this category if you have a physical retail store or shop selling products.

Examples of Places:

  • Restaurants, Cafés
  • Retail Shops
  • Service-based Businesses (e.g., hair salons, gyms)
  • Offices or Co-working Spaces

Additional Features:

  • Services Tab: Add services you offer without pricing that includes photos.
  • Pricing Tab: Add services or items with pricing details that includes photos.
  • Restaurant Menu Tab: Upload your menu with or without pricing (for food establishments).(leave pricing blank if not required)
  • Tags Tab: Add useful tags like “Credit Cards Accepted”, “Free Wi-Fi”.
  • Link Jobs: Connect job openings listed under Jobs to your business.
  • Link Events: Link events hosted at your business.

Attractions (For Museums, Beaches, Wine Farms, Outdoor Activities, Viewpoints, etc.)

This category is for places where people visit for leisure, sightseeing, or learning.

Examples:

  • Museums and Heritage Sites
  • Beaches, Waterfalls, and Viewpoints
  • Wine Farms, Craft Breweries
  • National Parks, Hiking Trails, and Wildlife Sanctuaries
  • Outdoor Adventure Activities (e.g., ziplining, paragliding)
  • Farms and Agritourism (e.g., cheese, olive farms)

Nearby Attractions (10-70km radius):

  • For external listings located 10-70km from the approved towns, select Nearby Attraction as the category and list under Attractions. Please be sure that your listing falls under the examples of the above attractions, general businesses will not be considered, as a general guideline businesses/NGO’s that are involved in tourism type activities that provide experiences are well suited     

Jobs (For Jobs Linked to a Business)

This category is for job openings directly tied to a business or organization.

Examples:

  • Job positions in restaurants, retail stores, or offices
  • Service roles, retail positions, administrative jobs

Accommodation (For Holiday Stays, Short/Long Term Rentals, For Sale)

List your rental properties for short or long-term stays. This category is for properties that people can book.

Examples:

  • Holiday Homes, Villas, Apartments
  • Short-term Rentals (e.g., Airbnb listings)
  • Long-term Rentals (e.g., houses, apartments for lease)
  • Residential Properties for Sale
  • Vacant Land For Sale 
  • Commercial Properties (e.g., office buildings)
Additional Features:
  • Amenities Tab: Add useful tags like, “swimming pool” “credit cards accepted” and more.
  • Booking Link: Add your Bookings/Tripadvisor/Nightsbridge, etc. booking link.
  • Real Estate Agencies and businesses can add their logo and agency details
 
Event (For Events Like Parkruns, Festivals, Clubs, etc.)

This category is for events that people can attend, from sports events to festivals and social gatherings.

Examples:

  • Parkruns, Marathons, Sports Events
  • Music Festivals, Food Festivals
  • Club Nights, Parties, Social Gatherings
  • Workshops, Business Events (e.g., product launches)
  • Tennis, Bowling, etc. Club Events

Claiming a Listing (It’s Free!)

If you find your business already listed on our platform and would like to take control of it, you can claim it for free.

How to claim a listing:

  1. Go to the listing page of the business you want to claim.
  2. Click the “Claim This Listing” button.
  3. Fill in the required details to verify your ownership or association with the business.
  4. Our team will review and approve your claim. Once verified, you will have full control over the listing to update details, add images, and respond to inquiries.

    Need help? Contact support if you experience any issues while claiming your listing.

Reporting a Listing

We strive to meticulously check all listing information to ensure accuracy and compliance with our platform’s standards. However, if you come across a listing that violates our guidelines, contains false information, or you do not want your business to be listed, you can report it.

Reasons to report a listing:

  • The listing contains incorrect or misleading information.
  • The business owner does not wish to be listed.
  • The listing violates legal, ethical, or community standards.
  • The listing includes offensive, inappropriate, or prohibited content.

How to report a listing:

  1. Navigate to the listing page.
  2. Click the “Report This Listing” button.
  3. Select the reason for your report and provide any necessary details.
  4. Our team will review the report and take appropriate action.

    If you are the business owner and do not wish to be listed, please submit a removal request through our support team, including verification of ownership.

FAQ's (frequently asked questions)

Listing Submission Issues & Solutions

1. Why do I see a “Pricing/Services” tab but nothing is in it?

Cause: A blank product was automatically created under the Pricing tab.
Solution: Edit your listing, go to the Pricing tab, delete the blank product, and update the listing.

2. My listing is not showing up after submission. What’s wrong?

Cause: Your listing may be in “Pending Review” status or incomplete.
Solution: Check your dashboard for listing status. If it’s pending, wait for admin approval. If incomplete, edit and fill in the required fields.

3. Why isn’t my location showing on the map?

Cause: The address might not be recognized or the location field is missing.
Solution: Try entering the full address, then select the correct option from the dropdown. If the problem persists, contact support.

4. I uploaded images, but they’re not showing. What should I do?

Cause: Image format, file size, or upload errors.
Solution: Ensure images are in JPG or PNG format and under the file size limit. Try uploading them again.

5. My contact details are missing/not working from my listing. How do I fix this?

Cause: The contact fields were not filled in during submission.
Solution: Edit your listing and ensure the email, phone number, or other contact methods are entered correctly. Ensure your number does not include characters or symbols. (good entries e.g. +27 82 123…, 082123…, +2721468…)

6. Why isn’t my category appearing in the dropdown menu?

Cause: The category might not be enabled for public selection.
Solution: If your business fits an existing category, select that. If you believe a new category is needed, contact support. If your business falls in an unavailable category please contact us and request an category addition. (through email or WhatsApp) “Hi, please add category X for Y type businesses”

7. I set a cover image, but it looks cropped or stretched. Can I fix this?

Cause: Cover images have specific dimensions.
Solution: Use an image that matches the recommended size (e.g., 1200x600px). Adjust and re-upload if needed.

8. I submitted my listing, but I need to make changes. How can I edit it?

Solution: You can edit pending listings. Go to your Dashboard → My Listings, find your listing, click Edit, make your changes, and Save/Update.

9. My listing was rejected. What should I do?

Cause: It might not meet platform guidelines.
Solution: Check your email for admin feedback. Edit and resubmit your listing according to the provided instructions. Please see guidelines above.

10. How can I feature or boost my listing?

Solution: Navigate to your Dashboard → My Listings, find the listing, and select “Promote” to choose a featured or boosted plan. See package details in the NautiXplorer Shop – navigate to Main Menu – More – Shop.

11. How can I change my username?

Solution: Navigate to Contact → Send Email, and email subject “request a username change”. Be sure to include your preferred new username in the email. Our support team will review your request and notify you once the update is complete.

12. How can I change/add my profile picture/logo?

Solution: Navigate to Contact → Send Email, and use the subject line “Profile Picture Update Request.” In the email, attach your new profile picture or logo and include any relevant details. Our support team will process your request and notify you once the update is complete.
